Implementation of ApiaDocumentum in the National Human Rights Institution and Ombudsman
Summary:
The National Human Rights Institution and Ombudsman (INDDHH for its Spanish acronym) is the organization responsible for defending, promoting and protecting the human rights recognized by the Constitution and the International law. This body needed an internal management report, which is why STATUM, along with the Agency for e-Government and Information Society (AGESIC for its Spanish acronym), has been working to achieve this.
Information:
The INDDHH is a relatively new organization. It was established in 2008, but, three years later, the Law by which it was created was changed in four different articles. It is possible to find reports on its website http://inddhh.gub.uy/ as of 2013. These reports are divided into the following categories:
To improve its internal management, STATUM has provided support in the gathering of information, the system setup, its customization and its backup. This process consists in working with variables that describe the complainant (his/her sex, age, etc.) and, subsequently, in recording the parameters that should be set in order to give them an operating logic in order for the reports to include these data.
STATUM will also support the internal training of ApiaDocumentum for end users. In this case, as there are few end users, it will not be necessary to generate downstream users for them to train other users. In fact, the system is already finished, i.e., set and ready to use, so the user will work with specific business classes that include all the requested information.
Even though the project is not yet operational, the following benefits are expected: digitization of information, transparency, traceability and the possibility of backing up information for it to be easily accessed if needed.
