100% Online Procedures: Ministry of Tourism and Sports
Summary:
In July 2016, it was reported on this site that the Ministry of Tourism, together with AGESIC, launched the Electronic File to continue working on the elimination of paper in the Public Administration. STATUM is currently working to be able to complete procedures 100% online.
Information:
During 2016, the implementation of the Electronic File in the Ministry of Tourism received the support of the Electronic Government Agency and the KPMG Global Services Network.
STATUM supported AGESIC in the configuration of ApiaDocumentum and in the training of the members of the work team, with a helpdesk to provide technical and functional support, which resulted in an efficient implementation. The Ministry of Tourism also had at its disposal the upgraded versions of ApiaDocumentum.
Moreover, the online procedures program is a direct solution to bring citizens closer to the State, thanks to the increase of access alternatives to public services 24/7 from any part of the country, reducing, according to AGESIC, “the territorial distribution gaps and the concentration of resources and services in the capital.”
Currently, citizens communicate with the state through the following channels: 1) Web sites, 2) Procedures in dual mode: partial/digital assisted, 3) Onsite and 4) Through mobile devices. Some procedures can already be started online and the current goal is to be able to carry out the procedures in the Ministry of Tourism and Sports 100% online.
According to the goals set for this program (in the information released by AGESIC together with the Presidency of the Republic) by 2018 it should be possible to complete 50% of the procedures of the Central Administration online. By 2020 this program should cover 100% of the organizational structure of state services.
