Successful migration to Apia 3.1.0.8 for all clients abroad
General Description:
All STATUM clients and distributors in more than 10 countries around the world completed the migration to Apia version 3.1.0.8 in the course of 2020, while contracts were renewed for terms of three to five years in some cases.
The objective was to achieve a technological update so that everyone had a system that allows them to meet their goals over the next few years.
Let us remember that the main novelty in Apia's beta version 3.1.0.8 is that now the files can be reused in the system. Before, a document uploaded to the system was "tied" to a specific task or process and had to be entered again to associate it with something else. Currently, each document is available to be used when needed.
From the user's point of view, they can now upload a new document, but they also have the possibility to search for an existing one. In addition, the option to "drag and drop" an item is now available to enter a new document. In case you want to choose one that has already been uploaded to the system, you can search for it in a list or when navigating between its "directories", another new feature of version 3.1.0.8.
In this sense, the directories in Apia work like the Windows directories: a document can be inside a directory and a directory can have more internal ramifications. In the same way that a document can be associated with permissions to determine which user can view or modify it, directories also have this security aspect.
Training carried out:
The migration work involved the analysis of each client or distributor in particular, whether they are government, telephone, bank, industrial or small and medium-sized companies, since, in some cases, very old versions of Apia were used.
“All migrations were successful and we were able to strengthen ties with our clients. They are renewing contracts in a difficult year”, said Pablo Marroni, head of STATUM's partners abroad.
And he added: "Everyone understood it as a valuable task for the organization at this time."
Technical information of the solution:
As we mentioned in previous paragraphs, this version of Apia includes two new functionalities: one called "Directories", it is useful to create / alter the directory structure; another is to manage documents, called "Document Management", which allows you to upload documents to the system, modify them, view their history, among other options.
And in another order, methods for working with documents and directories were also added in the Java programming API.
Apia is a solution developed by STATUM to manage files, documents and workflows, supported electronically.
