MIEM launched an online procedure that benefits family agricultural producers
SUMMARY:
TThe Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mining (MIEM), through the National Directorate of Energy, made available a new online procedure with Apia Procedures technology for family agricultural producers and groups of small and medium-sized rural producers who wish to receive a financial incentive.
INFORMATION:
The program, which comes into effect this year, promises to provide financial reimbursement to those productive establishments that implement measures to improve energy efficiency (MMEE) in accordance with the standards and technical requirements detailed in the MIEM bases.
Benefit features
This incentive is intended for producers registered as Agricultural Family Producers before the General Directorate of Rural Development (DGDR) of the Ministry of Livestock, Agriculture and Fisheries (MGAP), as well as groups of rural producers registered in the National Registry of Qualified Organizations ( RENAOH) with legal status. Participants must be in compliance with their tax obligations and have current certification from the General Tax Directorate (DGI) and the Social Security Bank (BPS).
Producers can propose non-standardized measures that demonstrate an increase in the energy efficiency of the production process. It is essential that all equipment used is new, without previous use, and complies with all current regulations, including manufacturer or local supplier guarantees.
Application process and requirements
To apply, producers must review and comply with the technical requirements and other important aspects established in the bases published by the MIEM. For example, it is essential that teams that have been nominated for other MIEM support instruments not be presented.
This procedure is in accordance with Decree 353/23, which prohibits public entities from requiring additional requirements or redundant documentation when the necessary information can be obtained securely by digital means from other entities. In addition, a mechanism is established for reporting in case of non-compliance with this decree, which reinforces the transparency and efficiency of the process.
The benefit of those who apply for this procedure
With this initiative, the MIEM seeks not only to promote the implementation of clean and efficient technologies in the primary sector but also to facilitate the administrative burden for farmers. By simplifying access to economic incentives, the ministry hopes to motivate greater participation in the program and ultimately encourage more sustainable and profitable practices in the Uruguayan countryside.
