Apia implementation of the National Wine Institute (INAVI): a first panning.
Summary:
The National Wine Institute (INAVI for its acronym in Spanish) is a large organism in our country, with over 450 registered wineries. The use of the electronic file began about a month ago; therefore, an overview regarding the main uses for the institution will be given.
Information:
The INAVI is the control and regulatory agency of the wine industry in Uruguay.
It has important tools that offer the possibility of supporting, designing and providing guidelines for the economic development of the whole industrial process: from its beginning to the production stage, continuing with the following stages until each particular process is finalized.
It has a Web site from where the user can access different procedures: export credit insurance, wineries, exporters and importers, cider houses, vineyards and VAT payment bills.
It also works with large amounts of data in the wine statistics section. The available information includes sales and exports, export analysis, sale of securities, sector synthesis, figures regarding marketing-consumption, and vineyards statistics at national and regional level.
Statements of workers of the IT department of INAVI:
“We began by drawing parallels with the old system; we have been exclusively working with Apia for less than a month (...). By hiring a consulting agency and forming a projects team we managed to implement the tool following the stipulated planning and carrying out a constant monitoring of the progress made.”
“APIA-BPM was implemented to include all the files, procedures and handling of legal information that previously required the use of paper. As it has been implemented very recently, the tool is not being used in its full capacity yet.”
