Online Procedures from Start to Finish in URSEC
Summary:
From May, 2016 until February 2017, 21 procedures could be started online from the URSEC website. STATUM is currently working to offer the possibility of processing 100% of procedures online.
Information:
Two of the main objectives set this year by AGESIC regarding selection and implementation of procedures in state agencies are the following: to simplify and optimize interactions between citizens and the Central Administration and to improve online procedures with models set by AGESIC.
To be able to process procedures online from start to finish is the third stage of the program called “Online Procedures”, carried out by the government and other related agencies.
The first stage of this program was bureaucratic transparency and the second one the online start of processes. STATUM is currently in the third stage. To date, 21,600 procedures can be processed online. By 2018, it is expected that citizens will be able to trace 100% of any procedure performed in the Central Administration.
Interoperability constitutes the fourth and last stage of the program. This means that the program will end when the state becomes a unit with interconnected instrumentalities.
To carry this out, the information gathering, developing, testing and PP processes will continue until September 2017 in order to complete the project in October 2017.
The procedures to implement in 2017 follow the prioritization criteria set between the main stakeholders involved, AGESIC and consulting firms, the aim of which is to be able to process 30% of the selected procedures by July 31, 2017.
What exceptions can citizens find regarding these types of procedures?
Citizens will be able to process procedures 100% online unless there are legal or technological impediments to process such procedures online, or the physical presence of the citizen is required.
