Latest Apia Procedures version in Company in a Day
Summary:
Company in a Day will receive the latest Apia Procedures version. This version will offer new features such as user identification and digital signature.
Information:
Company in a Day (Empresa en el día), the simple company registration system that saves time and money, will receive the latest Apia Procedures version, a product developed by STATUM, in the first quarter of 2018. This was confirmed by Roxana Perazzo, project manager in Agesic: "We are aiming higher," she stated.
In her opinion, the reason for using this new version is that Apia Procedures is "more accessible and easier to use," in addition to complying with the online form format currently used for multiple purposes in the Uruguayan Government site. "It will be a tangible change for citizens; it is more user-friendly," she added.
Apia Procedures is a platform that provides the mechanisms and functionalities required to publish procedures and interact with agencies and citizens.
Updating the system will allow Company in a Day to offer new features such as user identification and digital signature. Furthermore, it is expected to accompany the momentum that this mechanism received in the course of last year. As of September 2017, a daily average of six companies was created with this system.
Background
Company in a Day was created by decree in May 2010. It covers public companies, limited liability companies, de facto corporations and sole proprietorships. By 2018 it is expected that cooperatives will be included and that the Ministry of Social Development and Banco República bank will be added as strategic partners.
The process consists of an online and an onsite stage. It aims to streamline the process of incorporating a new company. At the end of the process, the company will be registered in the Social Welfare Fund and the General Taxation Office and, when appropriate, in the National Register of Commerce and the corresponding legal publications will be made.
As a result of Company in a Day and STATUM’s work, an electronic calendar was implemented. In this calendar, entrepreneurs or self-employed professionals can make appointments for the onsite stage. Ms. Perazzo stated that this "reorganized the work and changed" the process, since now citizens can start and finish this procedure in less time.
This service is provided in two offices (one in Montevideo and one in Salto). In the first nine months of 2017, 1,511 companies were registered in Montevideo and 204 in in Salto, which totals 1,715 companies.
