Repository Release Simplifies Apia Installation and Update
Summary:
The new STATUM Application Installer allows file automatic download.
Information:
Now it is easier for clients and partners to install and update Apia with the repository release of the STATUM Application Installer (SAI) that allows downloading files automatically.
SAI is a tool for installing and updating Apia through a web interface. It is also possible to carry out different actions with the packages that contain the required logic and files for different procedures.
Currently there are two repositories for SAI:
http://www.statum.info/repository/sai/install
http://www.statum.info/repository/sai/update
And for each Apia release:
http://www.statum.info/repository/apia/3.1.0.5
http://www.statum.info/repository/apia/3.1.0.6
There are also private repositories for clients and partners, that can be accessed with a security code.
With this new functionality, the user will receive a URL that, when accessing a SAI repository, will download the program, the license and its updates automatically. These files will be downloaded at night, unless the user prefers to download them right away. This way, the FTP (File Transfer Protocol) server is no longer needed, as the file transfer is performed from the repository. Once the files/packages have been obtained, they can be executed when convenient.
The new SAI is able to detect what information was stored in the repository of each client. For example, if it detects it is an Apia installation package, it will allow starting the execution process.
In addition, clients will receive a single explanatory email -the one containing the URL- with the steps to follow to install and execute the system once they access the repository. This way, they will stop receiving several emails with instructions to access the different files. This results in a faster and less overwhelming installation process.
Furthermore, the Nightly repository has been created for Apia 3.1.06. Here, clients will find system corrections without it being a final version.
These repositories already work for Apia, SAI and ApiaConfigurationManager (ACM).
