Detailed description:

STATUM and the Ministry of the Interior (MI) continue with Phase 2 of the implementation of the Online Procedures project with the publication of fundamental procedures for the General Directorate for the Supervision of Companies, an operational unit subordinate to the Directorate of the National Police, whose essential role is Private Security. The Private Security activity is not new in the country and consequently neither is its regulatory framework. On the other hand, the General Directorate for the Supervision of Companies (DIGEFE) has national competence and its powers are the following:

WHAT IS THE IMPORTANCE OF HAVING THIS PROCEDURE ONLINE?

Thanks to the work started by STATUM and the Agency for Electronic Government and the Information and Knowledge Society (Agesic), it is possible that citizens can carry out this procedure without having to go to an office, which acquires special relevance if we take into account the current pandemic situation, in which it is of the first order to restrict social contact. It is also important to mention that this procedure aims to provide security companies with a new communication channel for the authorization or renewal of armored vehicles for the transport of valuables.

The aforementioned process is governed by the requirements established in Law 19,721 that regulates the work of private security.

WHAT VOLUME OF PROCEDURES OF THIS TYPE ARE CARRIED OUT ANNUALLY?

The General Directorate for the Supervision of Companies represents a large volume of procedures for the system. Phase 1, which included some procedures for this agency and others for the National Directorate of Police Education and the National Directorate of Scientific Police, responded since the end of 2019 to more than 20 thousand procedures.
