SUMMARY:

STATUM, within the framework of the AGESIC Online Procedures program, developed a procedure through which an organization or individual can request the Declaration of Sports Interest from the National Sports Secretariat (SND).
 

INFORMATION:

Activities or events can be declared of sporting interest for various reasons, for example, to promote healthy habits or combat a sedentary lifestyle. Those who request it the most are the organizers of 5K races. The procedure is available to be done electronically since 2018.

This declaration serves one of the objectives of the Secretariat, which is to spread sports and physical activity, as established in article 109 of Law 19,355.

Since 2018, 44 electronic applications have been made, a procedure that is carried out free of charge.

The interested parties must describe the activity or initiative to be promoted and justify that it fulfills any of the tasks of the SND. Information in general, support from the federation, form of financing, background in organization of the event and indicate the website of the Secretariat must also be detailed. If it is a sporting event, the safety mechanisms and guarantees for athletes and participants must be detailed in the project.

As in other electronic procedures, the advantage of carrying them out this way is the elimination of the use of paper, as well as the need for the user to go to public offices to generate the file.

"This is especially important for events in the interior of the country, which can carry out the entire process without going to Montevideo, saving time and money in carrying out the process", said Roland Giménez, head of the IT Department of the National Sports Secretariat.
