More Uruguayans Are Using Online Procedures and Feel Satisfied with the Experience
SUMMARY:
The Observatory of the Agency for eGovernment, Information and Knowledge Society (Agesic as for its acronym in Spanish) published a study on the use of online procedures in Uruguay in 2022.
INFORMATION:
The results reflect a significant rise in the number of citizens performing online procedures as well as in the level of satisfaction with the experience.
According to the study, 51% of the users who performed procedures in the State's web site fully completed them online. Also, 88% were satisfied or very satisfied with the experience and 76% would repeat it.
The survey also highlights that the online request for DGI or BPS certificates has increased. In 2018, 23% of the internet users in Uruguay performed online procedures and, in 2022, the figure grew to 31%.
Also, the number of citizens who set appointments or book a number to perform procedures, for example to renew their identity card or driver's license, has increased. ApiaTrámites is the platform that allows users to perform this type of procedures in a more efficient and secure way. In 2018, 42% of the internet users in Uruguay performed online procedures, while 48% are currently using this method.
The Information Society Observatory of Agesic highlights that these results reveal a clear trend towards the digitalization of procedures in Uruguay. This means greater efficiency and comfort for users as well as a reduction in administrative costs to the State.
In this context, it is worth stressing that the work performed by STATUM in State entities streamlines the process for users. Also, ApiaTrámites is developed to guarantee the security and privacy of user data, an aspect that is extremely important in the context of procedure digitalization.
