SUMMARY:

The Paraguayan Institute of Crafts (IPA) has announced the implementation of digitalized procedures for the Registry of Artisans, Associative Formulas and Artisan Companies. This new system, implemented with the Apia platform, STATUM's technology, is part of an alliance with ISA and promises to improve the way in which the country's artisans carry out their tasks, by providing speed, efficiency and transparency.

The digitalization project, which is part of the digital agenda financed by the Inter-American Development Bank, includes training for IPA employees. On October 2 and 3, they received training on the operation of these digitalized procedures, given by the PY Procedures Consortium, which includes ISA Uruguay, ISA Paraguay and CPA Ferrere, with the participation of consultants from the Ministry of Information Technology and Communication (MITIC Paraguay).

This digital platform offers a variety of essential services in a simple and accessible way. It includes a secure method for making online payments, a system for scheduling appointments, and a service for tracking documents in real time. In addition, it provides a secure digital signature function, to ensure that each citizen has their own access.

As part of the efforts of the Government of Paraguay to facilitate procedures in the State through technology, four online procedures are made available for the registration of artisans, companies and associations. These procedures are carried out through the Paraguay.gov.py portal, through electronic identity. It is possible to carry out transactions 100% online, from anywhere, 24 hours a day and at no cost.

The available procedures are: registration or updating of the producing artisan; registration or update of representatives; registration and certification of an artisan company; registration and certification of associative formulas of artisans. In all cases, the fields to be completed are the same as those that appear on the printed forms, with the advantage that they can be completed at any time. In addition, it saves time for artisans because they do not have to go to an office to carry out the procedure.

The creation of the electronic identity is carried out in simple steps, from the Paraguay.gov.py site, in the "Create your Electronic Identity" section. If the citizen cannot answer the validation questions correctly or has any other problem, the request is sent for verification by the MITIC, who responds within the next 24 hours to enable the profile. This process is free, in-person, and completely online. It does not require presenting documents at the institution.
