SUMMARY:

The National Firefighters Office (DNB, as for its acronym in Spanish) of the Ministry of Inner Affairs implemented along with STATUM a new online procedure aimed at streamlining the process to authorize measure protections against fire.

This initiative represents a step towards procedures modernization, aimed at making the process to obtain authorization from DNB more efficient and accessible for the users.

According to Article No. 76 of Law No. 19,355, the preventive measures against fire taken in any building (except family residences) must be authorized by DNB.

The online procedure is completed through ApiaTrámites by a registered technician according to the requirements set for every type of building.

To start the procedure, the interested party must select a technician from the list published at the official site of DNB. This list, alphabetically ordered at national level, is available at the web and gives quick access to qualified professionals who can help developing security projects against fire and adapted to the requirements.

The cost of the procedure varies depending on project type and building features. Though DNB doesn’t rule the fees of technicians, it is advisable to request several quotations (from 3 to 5) and compare them in order to select the most convenient offer.

The implementation of ApiaTrámites in this procedure is an advance to offer a quicker and less bureaucratical option to comply with the regulations regarding security against fire. So far, citizens should fill a paper form and this would make tasks and authorizations slow.
