Udelar will manage the Complementary Health Fund System with Apia
SUMMARY:
The University of the Republic (Udelar) will implement the Complementary Health Fund System in Apia, a program aimed at offering medical coverage to the families of hired or interim technical-administrative, service and teaching staff.
INFORMATION:
This system will be managed through the platform developed by STATUM, which optimizes the management of administrative processes and ensures greater efficiency and transparency.
The new communication channel to make the application will be an online process, accessible from any device during the enabled period.
This procedure will verify and guarantee compliance with the requirements, as well as the presentation of all the necessary information to access the benefit.
The duty stamp will be paid digitally through Antel's payment platform. In addition, an intelligent algorithm will be developed in Apia to assist the Welfare Commission in the selection of beneficiaries.
Who is the benefit intended for?
The benefit is aimed at university employees who work 20 hours a week or more and whose salary at Udelar is their main source of income. Through this system, each employee may include up to two beneficiaries according to the criteria established in the current regulations.
Among the possible beneficiaries are sons and daughters between 18 and 29 years of age, as well as fathers and mothers who earn less than four Base Units for Benefits and Taxes Withholding (BPCs by its Spanish acronym), or up to six BPCs in cases of serious or chronic illnesses or disabilities that involve high costs. Brothers, sisters, grandsons and granddaughters who are economically dependent on the employee, within the established age limits, or without age limit if they have a permanent disability, may also be eligible.
The regulations also include non-related individuals living in the same household, provided that they are totally economically dependent and meet the same income and medical conditions as the other beneficiaries.
To access the system, interested parties must submit a sworn statement accompanied by the relevant supporting documentation to the Personnel Area of the university service to which they belong. The application must also include a professional duty stamp. Details on the required documents will be communicated in the framework of each application period.
The University Inclusion and Welfare Service (SCIBU by its Spanish acronym) will be responsible for evaluating the applications and defining a priority list according to the criteria established in the regulations. The number of beneficiaries selected will depend on the budget allocated to the program by the Programmatic Budget Committee (CPP by its Spanish acronym).
The application dates, as well as the deadlines for the communication of the results and the beginning of the benefits, will be timely informed by Udelar through its official channels.
