DIGEFE digitizes its control process with new inspection module in Apia
SUMMARY:
As of January, the Office for Inspection of Private Security Companies (DIGEFE) will implement a new inspection module in Apia, in order to digitalize and improve the management of the controls carried out by the agency.
INFORMATION:
The addition of this tool will make it possible to manage inspections more efficiently, ensure a centralized registry, automate key processes and provide greater control over compliance with the qualification requirements established by current regulations.
According to Decree 35/2022, Sections 55 and 96, DIGEFE must carry out inspections of armored vehicles, ATM machines and security systems that request the relevant authorization. The purpose of these inspections is to verify that the applicants comply with the technical and regulatory requirements. If non-compliances are detected, the authorization may be revoked and, if applicable, penalties or fines may be applied.
The inspection process ends with the report documenting the results obtained. Subsequently, the report is integrated into a final statement that the system will automatically send to the company. This report may contain observations to be addressed by the inspected company, which will have a period of ten working days to present the documentation and clarifications necessary for its regularization.
With the implementation of the new module in Apia, the inspection reports will be managed in a completely digital way, transformed into electronic procedures that will be processed exclusively by the officials of the inspection office. Through the process called “Inspection Management”, officials will be able to analyze the information in each report, generate reports in an automated way and perform a structured follow-up of each case.
The implementation of the inspections module in Apia represents a significant advance in the management of inspection processes, with benefits for both DIGEFE and the regulated companies. These include improved monitoring, transparency and efficiency in the control of licenses. Digitization will reduce administrative time, minimize human error and ensure greater uniformity in the evaluation of requirements.
For DIGEFE, this technological solution optimizes document management, facilitates access to information in real time and improves the capacity to respond to possible non-compliance. It also allows for more rigorous, data-driven control, which helps to strengthen decision-making and enforcement of regulations more effectively.
From the companies' perspective, the module's implementation reduces the bureaucratic burden, speeds up response times and provides more predictability in the authorization processes. The possibility of receiving notifications and performing online follow-ups provides a more agile and efficient communication channel, which contributes to a better management of regulatory compliance.
With this initiative, DIGEFE takes a step forward in the modernization of its processes, aligns itself with digital transformation trends and strengthens the regulatory framework through technological tools that guarantee a more agile, secure and efficient control.
