Uruguay hosted the 7th International Conference on Process Mining with the support of STATUM
SUMMARY:
STATUM was a silver sponsor of the 7th International Conference on Process Mining (ICPM 2025), held from October 20 to 24, 2025, at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of the Republic (FING-UdelaR).
INFORMATION:
The event, organized by the Computational Optimization and Analytics Lab (COAL), brought together the academic and professional process mining community, consolidating Uruguay as a regional hub for technological innovation.
The conference featured various academic and industrial activities. Among them, 12 thematic workshops were held on Monday, October 20, covering current and relevant topics in the field of process mining.
Five Days of Research, Industry, and Community
From Tuesday, October 21, to Thursday, October 23, research-related activities took place, including presentations of selected academic papers, posters, and tool demonstrations. In parallel, on Wednesday, October 22, and Thursday, October 23, the industrial track was held, providing a space to share use cases, practical applications, discussion panels, and hands-on training sessions.
On Friday, October 24, the conference doctoral consortium took place, an academic space where PhD students presented their research and received feedback from international experts.
Simultaneously, the 6th edition of the local BPMuy event was held, an open gathering for professionals and academics to share experiences and advances in business process management. BPMuy returned to its original format with key observations from visiting professors and free entry with prior registration. Additionally, BPMuy included a postgraduate and professional development course, with registrations managed by the University’s administration and continuing education department.
As part of BPMuy, the event featured internationally recognized speakers, including Professors Wil van der Aalst, Hajo Reijers, Marlon Dumas, Jan Mendling, Jana-Rebecca Rehse, and Emilio Sulis, who delivered lectures and presentations on the most relevant topics in the field.
The conference offered specific benefits for participants with different types of registration. Attendees had access to coffee breaks, lunches, and social events, such as the welcome toast on Monday, October 20, and the gala dinner on Wednesday, October 23. Support and discounts were also provided for professionals, postgraduate, and advanced degree students, through agreements with organizations such as CUTI.
