The National Institute for Statistics (INE, as for its acronym in Spanish) migrated to the latest version of ApiaDocumentum, technology developed by STATUM. The upgrade helps the institute to optimize document management tasks.

Migration involved upgrading ApiaDocumentum from 1.9 to 2.2.0.7. version. This was performed in collaboration with the Agency for eGovernment, Information and Knowledge Society (Agesic) and five teams, including INE.

Pablo Ferrari -representative of STATUM for the implementation of the project- explained the work performed: "Migration was coordinated along with Agesic. Later, some adjustments and additional settings were performed to benefit from the new functionalities available in the new version," he stated

As a result of the upgrade, INE has experienced improvements that help 70 officers to manage the files of the institute. One of the most standing is the file searcher, a crucial functionality for the institute. According to Ferrari, "it is the most used by officers." Also, the new version includes functions that boost work capacity.

The work performed by STATUM and INE was crucial to successfully implement the new version of ApiaDocumentum. Agesic and STATUM teams coordinated activities during several weeks, which included update and performance tests. According to Ferrari, "the purpose was to guarantee an agile production without bugs that may affect the release."

Also, a thorough analysis of the functionalities most used by INE was prioritized, and time and efforts were devoted to guarantee the proper functioning and compatibility with the new version.

ApiaDocumentum, application developed by STATUM, promotes the modernization and improvement of the services offered to citizens by public administration. This tool has increased the transparency of State procedures by providing efficient and complete access to information. Also, ApiaDocumentum has optimized process and reply time by streamlining the procedures and improving the quality of the services offered. The implementation of the tool promotes the development of digital government in Uruguay by promoting efficient and modern services.
