STATUM developed an assistant that helps fill out forms with AI
SUMMARY:
STATUM developed an artificial intelligence-powered assistant that makes it easier to complete forms during online procedures.
INFORMATION:
The tool is designed to operate in procedures with multiple steps and forms; it will automate data entry using language and image processing technologies.
The assistant aims to improve usability and accessibility, in line with AGESIC's periodic reviews of government procedures.
Completing forms with just a photo
The citizen begins the process and enters a five-step environment, where personal, contact, and address information is requested.
Instead of typing, the user can simply upload a photo of their ID card. The assistant recognizes the image, interprets the data, and automatically completes it on the individual form.
Completed fields include document type, number, first name, last name, and date of birth. The system also identifies whether it is an ID card or a passport.
When it comes to address information, the user can attach a photo of a bill, and the AI will quickly analyze the information and identify the person's address, completing the fields for "apartment," "street," "number," and other information.
Voice recognition for data entry
The assistant also allows interaction through spoken instructions. For example, data such as phone numbers and email addresses can be dictated, which are automatically interpreted and entered by the system into the respective fields.
Advancement toward digital inclusion
The development aims to improve compliance with decrees and standards related to digital accessibility that AGESIC requires for state procedures.
The system allows a person to complete a procedure simply by speaking or uploading an image, without having to enter information.
